About Spiralite ® Ducting
Spiralite ® ducting is a circular ductwork system manufactured using phenolic insulation board instead of galvanised sheet metal.
The insulation board used in the UK is the Kingspan ® KoolDuct ® Board. This board is cut in such a way as to allow it to be formed into a complete circular duct and sealed with reinforced foil tape. The internal surface is lined using a 3 ply aluminium foil based laminate sealed onto itself to give a strong airtight duct system.
Spiralite ® has achieved a Class 'C' classification at 2500Pa from BSRIA. It was tested at 7667Pa for an hour without air leakage from the duct or jointing system. See our BSRIA Report in the Approvals & Accreditations section for further information.
Spiralite® ducting was tested in accordance with BS EN 13403:2003 - ductwork made from insulation duct boards' up to 1500Pa and as for metal ductwork above this pressure.
Spiralite® ducting has the approval and backing of Kingspan Insulation Ltd when manufactured with their KoolDuct® insulation board.
Fittings including bends, reducers and tees are all manufactured in our factory. The jointing system for Spiralite® uses simple push fit metal connectors readily available through ductwork distributors. Spiralite® is very lightweight so it can be installed using a wire hanger system protected with plastic sleeves. No need for rigid duct support systems.
Duct fitters will notice the big difference in weight and ease of handling compared to traditional ducting. As Spiralite® is made from insulation there is no need for a return visit to insulate the system.
Spiralite® looks great and is environmentally friendly both in it's manufacture and once it is installed due to it's thermal efficiency and air tightness.
Spiralite® ducting is patent pending around the world.
